Every subscription ED service advertises a price per dose. This page works out what a year costs at each one and puts the pharmacy price of the same generic tablet next to it, from each company's own pages, for the three ways men actually take these medications. The source for every number is listed so you can check it.

The short answer
Generic sildenafil and tadalafil are among the cheapest prescription drugs sold in the United States. On 14 October 2026, Cost Plus Drugs listed 30 tablets of sildenafil 50 mg for $6.36, 30 tablets of tadalafil 20 mg for $6.69 and 30 tablets of tadalafil 5 mg for $5.97, plus $5.25 shipping. The 5 September 2026 GoodRx coupon benchmark priced the same generics at roughly $8 to $17 a pack at a retail pharmacy. The subscription services sell the same tablets for $1.50 to $44 a dose.
Over a year, that is the difference between a bill that is mostly the tablets and a bill that is mostly the service around them. This comparison models 45 tablets plus one refill, or 90 tablets per approved as-needed prescription. That lasts six months only at 15 tablets a month; smaller quantities and different use change when another $45 visit is needed. At the modeled quantity, a year of sildenafil is $1,080 at Hims (50 mg unit-price model; exact plan unverified), $1,080 at Ro and, at its historical September price, Peter MD, $864 for 144 tablets at Rex MD (historical 12-a-month quantity scenario, not a current plan-limit claim), about $840 at BlueChew (204 compounded 45 mg chews), and about $160 with two $45 Bidwell Health visits and Cost Plus Drugs, or $288 to $397 with a coupon at a chain for the same 50 mg tablets: 63 to 85 percent less in the matched 50 mg Hims and Ro unit-price scenarios (BlueChew sells chewables, so its rows are labelled too). A year of tadalafil 20 mg at 15 a month is $7,920 at Ro and $1,230 to $2,265 in the historical, not re-verified Hims estimate against about $162 to $259: 79 to 98 percent less. For daily tadalafil it is Ro $2,880, BlueChew about $820 for a different 9 mg compounded product, Rex MD $720 and Hims $948 on its published monthly tier ($384 if its twelve-month prepaid tier is offered, using advertised ED free shipping), against about $225 to $254: 34 to 92 percent less in the 5 mg tablet scenarios. Between 57 and 98 percent of what you pay the four big brands over a year is the amount above the pharmacy-price benchmark in the comparable tablet scenarios (with historical ranges labelled); that difference includes the bundled services and fees, and it does not reveal a company's acquisition cost or profit margin. The tables show the work, including the discount subscription scenarios that may be cheaper than the historical chain-pharmacy coupon benchmark at small quantities; Friday Plans' additional fee prevents verification of its complete total, and the per-visit services that charge less than we do for the visit itself.
1. What the pills actually cost
Retail-pharmacy coupon prices and mail-order prices for the five generic products every service on this page sells. Cost Plus Drugs prices were read on its product pages on 14 October 2026 and are itemised there as manufacturing cost plus 15 percent plus a $5 pharmacy fee; standard shipping is $5.25 per order. GoodRx figures are free-coupon prices on 5 September (the site defaulted to a Columbus, Ohio ZIP code; yours will differ by a few dollars). SingleCare figures are its historical published coupon prices with the pharmacy and date shown. These coupon and warehouse-club benchmarks were not re-verified for the same location and pack size in October; they are not current guaranteed cash prices. The historical September 5 Sesame prescription savings-card benchmark quotes sildenafil 100 mg at $15 for 10 and tadalafil 5 mg at $18.50 for 30. Cost Plus Drugs is a licensed mail-order pharmacy that fills any prescriber's e-prescription and does not offer telehealth; a Bidwell Health prescription can be sent there directly. Cost Plus fills the quantity prescribed, and the $5 pharmacy fee and $5.25 shipping are per fill, so the number of fills sets how often they are paid: six 30-count fills for the standard 180-tablet year, or two 90-count fills if the prescription is written and filled that way; twelve 30-count fills or four 90-count fills for the annual daily-tadalafil model of 360 tablets and two visits. No 90-count Cost Plus price was read for this page.
2. What the subscription services charge per dose, and how far above the pharmacy that is
Prices checked on 14 October 2026 are linked in each row and the source notes. Historical figures retain their earlier date and are not presented as current offers. "From", "as low as" and "starting at" are the companies' words and usually depend on plan length or quantity, which the pages do not always state. The markup columns compare each price with the GoodRx coupon price per dose (the range above) and with the Cost Plus Drugs price per dose including one $5.25 shipping fee on a 30-count fill ($0.39 sildenafil 50 mg, $0.40 tadalafil 20 mg, $0.37 tadalafil 5 mg).

3. What a year costs, and what you save
The model includes medication, per-order fees and two $45 Bidwell visits. Annual daily-treatment figures use twelve 30-day months, or 360 tablets, for every service. Each approved Bidwell daily prescription in this model provides a 90-day supply plus one refill; two visits cost $90. The as-needed examples also budget two visits, with timing determined by the selected quantity, authorized refill and use. Subscription totals use the stated per-dose price for 360 daily tablets plus the stated shipping cadence, unless a cell specifies a plan. Unit-price extrapolations do not prove that the exact quantity or plan is offered. BlueChew has different strengths/formulations; no like-for-like saving is claimed. Friday Plans totals exclude its unquantified additional fee. Hims models use the ED product page's advertised free shipping; its general support page still lists $5, so confirm the applicable checkout terms. The Bidwell coupon route uses the GoodRx prices in section 1, in whole fills where stated; the Cost Plus route uses 30-count fills at $5.25 shipping each: six fills for 180 tablets, three for 72, two for 48 and twelve for 360 daily tablets. No 90-count Cost Plus price was read, so no 90-count Cost Plus total is estimated. Percentages show savings against each service under the stated assumptions; where a service is cheaper or sells a different quantity, its cell says so.
At the standard Bidwell Health quantity: 15 tablets a month (180 a year)
The as-needed model here uses 45 tablets plus one refill, 90 tablets per approved prescription. At 15 tablets a month those doses last six months. Intake also offers 15 or 30 tablets per fill; once the selected quantity and authorized refill are used, another prescription requires a new $45 visit. There is no fixed six-month duration for as-needed treatment. At pharmacy prices the quantity barely matters: nine extra sildenafil tablets a month cost about $3.50 through Cost Plus Drugs or $10 to $15 with a coupon. At subscription prices the quantity is the bill: the same nine tablets cost $54 more a month at Hims or Ro, and several services do not sell that many. The historical Rex MD example is a 12-dose monthly plan (144 tablets); its October quantity limit was not re-verified. BlueChew's current 17-chew SIL plan is $65 a month before shipping, and its rows state the different chew strength and count. Hims and other unit-price extrapolations are not confirmed quotes for a 15-dose plan.

Daily tadalafil is where the subscription model is most exposed, because the tablet is the cheapest of the five and the services price it as if it were not. Ro's published price is $8 a dose for a tablet that costs about 37 cents by mail including shipping and 40 to 46 cents with the historical coupon benchmark. Hims' twelve-month prepaid tier, if it is still offered, brings the tablet to about $1.07 with $384 paid up front and one shipment assumed; on its published monthly tier the tablet is about $2.63 before any checkout fee. At these listed rates, Friday Plans and Rocket Rx also cost more than the daily Bidwell examples. Hims' conditional prepaid tier narrows the difference. Every daily tablet scenario uses 360 tablets; the separate BlueChew illustration uses 360 compounded 9 mg chews and is not a 5 mg comparison.
4. Difference from the pharmacy-price benchmark
Historical or unlike-product rows are illustrations, not current like-for-like savings claims. Friday Plans' full fee is unknown; its medication-only figures are not complete bills.
Take any year-long bill above and subtract what the same tablets cost at a pharmacy with a coupon. These estimates compare what a patient pays under the stated assumptions. The difference includes any bundled services and fees; it does not reveal a company's acquisition cost or profit margin. For the matched Hims and Ro sildenafil scenarios, that difference is about 72 to 82 percent of the bill. For the 5 mg daily-tablet scenarios it is about 57 to 95 percent, depending on the coupon benchmark and whether the conditional prepaid tier is available. Historical Hims 20 mg prices and compounded BlueChew products are not current like-for-like comparisons. At Ro, 98 cents of every dollar spent on on-demand tadalafil is above the coupon price of the tadalafil. For the discount subscriptions, Friday Plans and Rocket Rx, the historical medication-price difference is smaller on on-demand sildenafil and larger on daily tadalafil; Friday Plans' additional fee prevents a complete-bill calculation.
On the cash-pay route the amount above the benchmark is the $45 visit. The visit fee covers a clinician's review and a prescription with refills if approved, with a refund if treatment is not appropriate. This page budgets two visits for the annual examples. Actual visit frequency depends on the quantity prescribed, refills and use.
5. The other per-visit services, compared honestly
The visit fee is one part of the total. Prescription quantity, authorized refills, pharmacy prices and the number of paid visits determine what continued treatment costs. Here is what each service publishes, with medication paid separately unless stated.

Know what you will pay to continue treatment. Bidwell publishes the $45 visit fee, available quantities, one-refill allowance and dated pharmacy-cost examples together. Use the authorized refill through your pharmacy without paying for another visit. Once those fills are used, a new prescription requires a new $45 visit. Our daily-treatment example comes to $90 in visits per year plus medication: about $225 total through Cost Plus Drugs, including twelve shipping charges. No membership, automatic renewal or requirement to buy medication from us. You choose the pharmacy, and the visit fee is refunded if we cannot treat you. A lower advertised consultation fee alone does not establish a lower annual cost; the Amazon and Optum pages above do not specify enough refill detail to calculate a comparable annual total.

6. What the per-dose price does not tell you

7. How the cash-pay route works
A Bidwell Health ED visit is a $45 online intake reviewed by a licensed clinician, with no scheduled video and no insurance billing. When treatment is clinically appropriate, the prescription is sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose, with the approved quantity and refill. As-needed selections are 15, 30 or 45 tablets per fill; daily tadalafil selections are 30, 60 or 90 days per fill. One refill doubles the selected quantity if authorized. When those fills are used, another prescription requires a new $45 visit. For example, 15 as-needed tablets plus one refill gives 30 tablets, while 90 daily tablets plus one refill gives 180 days. If the prescription is written and filled as 90-count fills, a mail-order pharmacy's fee and shipping are paid twice a year for the standard 180-tablet supply instead of six times, and four times instead of twelve for the 360-tablet daily-tadalafil model; the tables above use 30-count fills. That pharmacy can be a chain where you show a GoodRx or SingleCare coupon at the counter, a warehouse club, or Cost Plus Drugs, which mails the medication at the prices in section 1. 8. When a subscription service is the better choice
Price qualification, October 14: Friday Plans' medication-only price can be lower at small quantities, but its unquantified additional fee prevents a complete-cost ranking. Historical plan tiers below are not verified current offers.
This section is the reason to trust the tables. Hims, Ro and Rex MD serve all fifty states; Bidwell Health serves eleven. If you want medication at your door and never want to stand at a pharmacy counter or wait for the mail, the shipped model is what you are paying for. If you want a compounded chewable, mint or sublingual, a regular pharmacy cannot fill it and BlueChew, Hims, Ro, Rugiet, Eden or Rocket Rx can. Ro, Friday Plans and Rocket Rx will send a prescription to your own pharmacy if you ask, which makes them hybrids. For a few sildenafil tablets a month filled at a chain, Friday Plans at up to $1.99 a tablet before its unquantified fee and Rocket Rx from $1.50 may be cheaper than a $45 visit plus coupon-priced tablets, because their per-pill premium on a handful of tablets adds up to less than two visit fees; at the 15-tablet monthly model Rocket Rx's $329.40 is roughly even with the historical chain-coupon range and about twice the $159.66 Cost Plus route; Friday Plans' complete fee remains unknown, and on tadalafil at the standard quantity they are 38 to 110 percent above the coupon route (Friday Plans' four-tablet medication-only model is lower, before its unquantified fee). Both are subscriptions. If you are on Hims' twelve-month prepaid daily-tadalafil tier and it ships once, your per-tablet price is within a dollar of the pharmacy price, though you paid for the year up front.
9. How these prices were verified
Pricing/source check: October 14, 2026. We re-read the linked public product, pricing and support pages; no purchase or patient intake was used. Cost Plus's five 30-tablet prices and $5.25 shipping were confirmed in its live product selectors. Ro and Rex MD unit prices, BlueChew's selected plans, Rocket Rx's starting prices/shipping, Lemonaid's consult and starting price, GoodRx Care's four-dose offer, and the linked Optum, Sesame and PlushCare prices were checked. Hims' public daily tiers remain conditional on availability; its ED page advertises free shipping while its general shipping help lists $5. We use the ED-specific free-shipping statement and disclose the conflict.
Historical benchmarks are not fresh quotes. GoodRx's September 5 Columbus, Ohio coupon ranges, SingleCare's dated pharmacy examples, warehouse-club listings, Peter MD, Hims' 20 mg tiers and Eden's former offer were not re-verified at the same strength, quantity and terms. They retain their old dates. Warehouse figures are not confirmed undiscounted cash prices. Amazon retains its September 19 example; Walgreens and cancellation terms retain September 5 unless stated. No current price is inferred from a missing public quote. Check the provider and pharmacy before paying.
Annual figures are arithmetic scenarios, not guaranteed offers: 180 or 72 sildenafil tablets, 180 or 48 tadalafil tablets, or 360 daily tablets over twelve 30-day months. Different strengths, compounded products, pack quantities, prepaid tiers and incomplete fees are labelled. Friday Plans' public FAQ discloses a fee but not its amount, so its rows show medication-only totals and no verified complete-cost saving. Models exclude tax and introductory promotions. The markup finding is not new. A 2024 analysis in The Journal of Sexual Medicine compared the direct-to-consumer services with Cost Plus Drugs and found introductory sildenafil at $4.17 to $6.50 per pill at BlueChew, Hims and Roman against $0.32 at Cost Plus, and tadalafil at $6.25 to $9.75 against $0.36, concluding that the markup "likely exceeds the out-of-pocket cost for a primary care office visit needed to obtain a prescription." That office visit is what the subscriptions bundle, and what a $45 telehealth visit replaces.

What is the cheapest way to get ED medication online?
A one-time telehealth visit plus generic medication filled at your own pharmacy with a coupon, or mailed by Cost Plus Drugs. On 14 October 2026 Cost Plus listed 30 tablets of sildenafil 50 mg for $6.36, tadalafil 20 mg for $6.69 and tadalafil 5 mg for $5.97, plus $5.25 shipping; the 5 September 2026 coupon benchmarks at a retail pharmacy were roughly $8 to $17 a pack. The subscription services charge $1.50 to $44 a dose for the same generics.
How much more do Hims, Ro, Rex MD and BlueChew charge than a pharmacy?
For generic sildenafil 50 mg, Hims, Ro and Rex MD charge $6 a dose: 252 to 445 percent above a coupon price and about 15.5 times the Cost Plus Drugs price including shipping. For tadalafil 20 mg, Ro charges $44 a dose, roughly 4,600 to 5,100 percent above the coupon price. For daily tadalafil 5 mg, Ro charges $8 a dose against 40 to 46 cents with the historical coupon benchmark and 37 cents by mail including shipping.
What does a year of ED medication cost at Hims versus a $45 visit?
At six 50 mg sildenafil tablets a month, the published $6 unit price gives a $432 annual Hims model with advertised ED free shipping; the exact quantity tier must be confirmed. Two $45 Bidwell visits plus generic sildenafil are about $169 to $213 using the historical September coupon benchmark, or about $125 through Cost Plus. For 360 daily tadalafil tablets, Hims' published tiers give $948 monthly or $384 with twelve months prepaid if offered, versus about $225 to $254 for the Bidwell examples. Hims' general support still lists a $5 shipping fee, so confirm your checkout terms.
Is Friday Plans or Rocket Rx cheaper than a $45 visit plus a pharmacy?
At six sildenafil tablets a month, Rocket Rx's published starting price and twelve $4.95 shipping charges give a $167.40 model, below the historical coupon example ($169 to $213) but above Cost Plus ($124.83). Friday Plans' $143.28 sildenafil and $95.52 four-tablet-monthly tadalafil figures are medication only; its additional fee is not quantified, so we cannot verify which complete total is cheaper. At 360 daily tablets its medication-only model is $716.40; Rocket Rx's starting-price model is $509.40, versus $224.64 through Cost Plus or the historical coupon range $233.64 to $254.40, including two $45 visits.
Can I get ED medication online without a subscription?
Yes. Bidwell Health charges $45 per visit and sends an approved prescription to your chosen pharmacy, including Cost Plus Drugs. The selected quantity and authorized refill determine how long it lasts. Once those fills are used, a new prescription requires a new $45 visit. Can my prescription go to Cost Plus Drugs?
Yes. Cost Plus Drugs is a licensed mail-order pharmacy that fills e-prescriptions from any prescriber; it does not offer telehealth itself. Enter Cost Plus Drugs as your pharmacy at intake and the prescription is sent there electronically. Its prices are itemised on each product page as the manufacturer's cost plus 15 percent plus a $5 pharmacy fee, with $5.25 standard shipping per order.
Can I cancel Hims, Ro, Rex MD or BlueChew any time?
Each allows cancellation with a deadline before the next charge: Hims at least two days before renewal, Ro 48 hours, Rocket Rx 48 hours, Strut 48 hours, Rugiet 48 hours, BlueChew 24 hours, GoodRx Care one day; Rex MD's terms say within 12 hours of the renewal date. Hims does not refund partly used periods, Rex MD's terms say all sales are final, and Strut and BlueChew do not accept returns of prescription treatments.
Does the $45 visit include the medication?
No. It covers clinician review, the prescription decision with refills, and messaging about the visit. Medication is paid at your pharmacy or to Cost Plus Drugs. If treatment is not clinically appropriate, the visit fee is refunded.
When is a coupon cheaper than telehealth for ED?
Whenever you already have a prescription. The coupon and Cost Plus prices above are what the pharmacy charges with or without a telehealth service in front of it. The visit is only the cost of getting the prescription, which is why a one-time $45 visit and a shipped subscription end up so far apart over a year.
