A useful comparison has two parts: the amount the clinician's service charges, and the amount the pharmacy charges for the actual prescription. 4. A $45 visit, without another membership

Tell us about your symptoms. Complete the UTI questionnaire, including pregnancy status, allergies, current medications and symptoms that could need in-person care.
A licensed clinician reviews your visit. Care is provided through secure, two-way messaging rather than a scheduled video appointment. The clinician decides whether online treatment is appropriate and may ask follow-up questions. Your visit includes 21 days of follow-up messaging about the condition treated, starting when your care summary is delivered.
Use the pharmacy you choose. If approved, the prescription is sent there. The pharmacy charges for the medication and determines when it is ready. Clinician review time is not a guarantee of pharmacy stock or pickup time.

5. Are there lower-priced options?

Yes. GoodRx Care lists a $39 UTI visit without a membership. It also offers membership discounts with separate costs and terms. A visit covered through your own insurance or employer may also cost less. Teladoc, for example, advertises covered General Medical visits as low as $0. Check your actual benefit rather than assuming its $89 uninsured price applies to you.

Dr. B advertises UTI consultations from $19, with medication paid separately. Its potential video-review increase does not establish that your final fee would exceed $45; check the price for your situation.

Sesame advertises UTI appointments from $34. You choose a provider, review the listed price and book a telehealth time. That price may be lower than Bidwell's. Its UTI page advertises nationwide availability, compared with Bidwell's 11 states. Bidwell offers a fixed $45 message-based visit without choosing a video slot or comparing individual providers.

Bidwell is not claiming to be the lowest price in every situation. The comparison is specific: a $45 visit costs less than several major self-pay alternatives, without a membership requirement. For someone considering a $65, $89 or $129 visit, that is a meaningful difference before the prescription is even filled.

Availability matters too. Bidwell serves eligible patients physically in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Virginia and Washington. A competing service may cover a state or patient group that we do not. Check the current service area.

6. When an online UTI visit is the wrong purchase

A low price helps only when the service fits the problem. Bidwell's UTI pathway is for eligible, nonpregnant adult women with symptoms consistent with an uncomplicated lower urinary tract infection. Urinary symptoms can have other causes, and antibiotics are not automatically the answer.

Fever, chills, back or side pain, nausea or vomiting can indicate a kidney infection and need prompt medical care. Pregnancy, severe illness, repeated infections or symptoms that persist after treatment can also require an examination or testing. That is where an urgent-care clinic or another in-person service may justify a higher bill: it can provide an examination and testing that a message-based visit cannot. We do not treat that extra capability as wasted money when you need it.
