This visit is for female patients
UTI treatment through Bidwell Health is designed for female anatomy. If you're a male experiencing urinary symptoms, please see your primary care provider — male UTIs require different evaluation.
Do you have painful or burning urination?
Do you have urgency or increased frequency of urination?
⚠️ At least one UTI symptom is required to qualify for this visit. If you're not experiencing symptoms, please consult your primary care provider.
Step 2 of 5
Safety check
A few quick questions so your provider can treat you safely.
Are you currently pregnant?
⚠ We can't treat your UTI through this platform during pregnancy.
Because you are pregnant, we recommend that you be evaluated in person for your urinary symptoms. In pregnancy, UTIs should be assessed more carefully, and a urine culture is recommended to confirm the infection and help guide the safest and most appropriate treatment. Please arrange evaluation with an in-person medical provider as soon as possible so they can perform a urinalysis and urine culture and start treatment if indicated.
Pregnancy increases the risk that a bladder infection ascends to the kidneys (pyelonephritis), which can cause preterm labor and sepsis — do not wait more than 24 hours for evaluation. If your OB-GYN can't see you prompt, go to your hospital's Labor & Delivery triage.
If you develop fever, flank pain, vomiting, or worsening symptoms, you should seek urgent medical care.

Do you have a history of getting yeast infections after taking antibiotics? Some patients develop a yeast infection as a side effect of antibiotic treatment. If this has happened to you before, your provider can add a preventive prescription.
Would you like your provider to include a prescription for oral fluconazole (Diflucan) so you have it on hand if a yeast infection develops?Your provider will prescribe 2 tablets of fluconazole 150mg. Take the first tablet at the first sign of a yeast infection. If symptoms have not fully resolved after 72 hours, take the second tablet. No need for a separate visit — your provider will review and approve if appropriate.
Do you have a measured fever of 101°F (38.3°C) or higher?Feeling warm does not count — this means a thermometer reading of 101°F or above.
Do you have pain specifically in your flank or side?True flank pain is felt in the side of your back at kidney level — not typical bladder discomfort.
Are you having shaking chills or rigors?Rigors means uncontrollable shaking with chills — not just feeling cold.
Are you actively vomiting or unable to keep fluids down?
Do you have a known immune condition, are on chemotherapy, or have a single kidney?Examples: organ transplant, HIV, active cancer treatment, congenital single kidney.
How would you rate your current urinary pain on a 1–10 scale?1–3 is mild discomfort, 4–6 is moderate burning or cramping, 7–10 is severe pain interfering with daily activity.
Would you like a prescription for phenazopyridine (Pyridium) for symptomatic relief of urinary pain, burning, and urgency?Pyridium treats only the discomfort — it does not kill bacteria, so it's taken for 1–2 days alongside your antibiotic. Please note that it will likely turn your urine orange, and may stain fabric or soft contact lenses.
