First outbreak or unsure? Get an in-person examination and appropriate testing.
Personal care, on your terms
Discuss an established diagnosis in writing with a licensed clinician. No genital photos. No scheduled video call. No waiting-room conversation for this online visit.
Use a private email account and read your clinician's questions and instructions in the patient portal. Keep visit links to yourself.
Choose where an appropriate prescription is sent. Ask that pharmacy about shared accounts, insurance claims, pickup alerts and delivery packaging.
Bidwell does not sell your personal or health information or share it with advertisers. Care creates a medical record, with access and disclosures described in the privacy policy.
Use your accurate identity for medical care. Bidwell does not bill insurance for the visit; the pharmacy handles medication billing and its own notifications and packaging.
These are Bidwell's service limits. Your clinician makes the final treatment decision. An existing diagnosis does not mean every new genital symptom is herpes.
Care decisions in Arizona
A familiar recurrence and a first genital sore need different kinds of care. That distinction matters when you are comparing online treatment with an Arizona STI clinic. A clinic can offer several STI tests without offering a herpes examination or herpes treatment.
Maricopa County specifically says its STI clinics do not provide herpes testing or treatment. They can be useful for other STI concerns, but that listing is not a promise of a herpes assessment. For a first or uncertain sore, ask a primary care, urgent care or sexual health clinician whether they can examine the area and arrange a lesion test when appropriate. Describe that you have symptoms, rather than booking only a routine screening panel.
If a healthcare provider has diagnosed genital herpes before, you can request Bidwell care while physically in Arizona. Tell the clinician when the current tingling or sores began, whether this matches earlier outbreaks and what previously helped. A new symptom, a new exposure or a rash in a different pattern deserves attention even if you already have herpes. Do not use an old diagnosis to assume every new genital symptom has the same cause.
You do not need to make Arizona your permanent address to request care here. Your actual location during the visit is what matters. Choose a pharmacy you can reach during your stay and check its hours before relying on pickup. If you are leaving Arizona before the assessment is complete, tell the clinician. A prescription request is not confirmation that medication is ready, and pharmacy stock and dispensing time are separate from the clinical review.
If you share a family pharmacy account, ask the pharmacy which phone number receives ready-for-pickup notices and who can see prescriptions in the account. You can discuss paying cash for the medicine separately from insurance, but the pharmacy decides how it handles billing, accounts and pickup verification. Bidwell does not control those notifications. Choose an email account you can access privately for your Bidwell visit updates.

Confirm current services, appointments and testing with the clinic. A resource listing is not a promise that herpes testing is available.
Reviewed 7 days a week, including weekends; timing varies. No required subscription.
Bidwell may prescribe oral valacyclovir or acyclovir when appropriate. Valacyclovir is the generic medicine for Valtrex. We do not offer famciclovir through this visit. The medicine, dose and duration depend on your assessment.
Genital herpes can be caused by HSV-1 or HSV-2. Genital HSV-1 generally recurs less often; daily treatment is usually reserved for frequent recurrences after discussion. Antivirals manage herpes but do not cure it.

The visit includes clinician assessment, an appropriate prescription when indicated and 21 days of clinical follow-up messaging under the visit terms. There is no required subscription, and Bidwell does not bill insurance.
The pharmacy price depends on the prescribed medicine, strength, quantity and the pharmacy's cash price or your coverage. Ask for the price of the actual prescription before it is filled.
If the clinician determines that your condition cannot be treated safely online, your visit fee is refunded. A refund is based on suitability for online care, not a promise of a prescription.
Authorized pharmacy refills do not require another visit. When a new prescription or further clinical care is needed, a new $45 visit is required. Read the herpes treatment cost guide.

A new genital sore can have more than one cause. Herpes, syphilis, irritation, an injury and other skin conditions can overlap in appearance. A sore that hurts, does not hurt or resembles an online image cannot establish the diagnosis. New, persistent or different symptoms need an examination and appropriate testing.
A clinician may swab an active sore for HSV testing. Blood tests have limitations and can produce false-positive results; routine STI screening does not necessarily include herpes. Ask which test is appropriate for your symptoms. Bidwell does not perform STI testing or diagnose first outbreaks.
Emergency care now: confusion, new weakness, or severe headache with a stiff neck, especially with fever. Call 911 if you cannot get there safely.
Urgent same-day assessment: eye pain, eye redness with light sensitivity or vision changes, sores near the eye, trouble passing urine, inability to urinate, severe pain, widespread sores or fever with severe illness.
For pregnancy, possible pregnancy, trying to conceive or breastfeeding, use your obstetric or in-person clinician. Tell them promptly about new genital symptoms. Kidney disease, significant immune suppression and antiviral allergy also require care outside this service.
Herpes can spread even when no sore is visible. Avoid sexual contact during sores or warning symptoms, discuss the diagnosis with partners, and use condoms to reduce risk. Condoms and antiviral treatment do not eliminate transmission.
Daily valacyclovir has evidence for reducing HSV-2 transmission in heterosexual couples where one partner has symptomatic genital HSV-2 and the other does not. Do not assume the same evidence applies to acyclovir or genital HSV-1. Your clinician can discuss what is known for your situation.
A partner with symptoms needs their own assessment. Do not share your prescription or use treatment as a substitute for testing after a new exposure. A herpes diagnosis does not establish when an infection was acquired.

Yes, adults with a prior diagnosis can request a daily suppressive-treatment assessment even without an active sore. Tell the clinician your outbreak frequency, medical history and treatment goals. Daily treatment does not cure herpes or eliminate transmission risk.
