No scheduled video visit is required for Bidwell Health ED visits. A licensed clinician reviews cardiovascular risk, medications, and contraindications first.

Short answer: No. Bidwell Health ED visits use a structured online intake reviewed by a licensed clinician. No scheduled video visit is required for eligible adults.

When online care may fit

A written intake can support clinician review for an adult whose history and symptoms can be assessed appropriately online. The clinician considers cardiovascular risk, blood-pressure concerns, medicines and contraindications. Follow-up questions, an examination or tests may still be needed; no video requirement does not mean no clinical assessment.

When to seek in-person or urgent care

Recent heart attack or stroke, unstable heart disease, significant blood-pressure problems or an uncertain diagnosis can require in-person or specialist assessment. Nitrate or riociguat use rules out combining those medicines with PDE5 inhibitors; taking them is not itself an emergency. Current chest pain, severe trouble breathing, collapse or stroke symptoms are emergencies: call 911. Do not wait for an online visit or routine message reply.

What to prepare for a written visit

Share your complete medicine list, relevant history, blood-pressure readings if available and how prior ED treatments worked. You must be physically in a supported state during the visit. The clinician decides whether care is appropriate, and a prescription is not guaranteed.
