Travel and state availability

Can I Use Bidwell Health While Traveling?

Sometimes. Bidwell Health can review online visits only when the patient is physically located in a supported state at the time of care.

Short answer: If you are traveling in a supported Bidwell Health state, you may be able to start a visit. If you are physically outside the supported states, do not start a visit until care is available where you are located.

Home address versus current location

Your home address is still part of your patient record, but telehealth rules generally depend on where you are physically located when care is provided. That is why the intake asks for your current state before clinician review.

Traveling and pharmacy pickup

If treatment is clinically appropriate, the prescription can usually be sent to the pharmacy selected during intake, as long as the pharmacy can receive and process it. Pick a pharmacy you can actually use while traveling.

When traveling needs in-person care

If symptoms are severe, urgent, pregnancy-related, or require testing, imaging, or an exam, use local urgent or emergency care instead of waiting for an online visit.
