Burning when peeing
Burning with urination can fit a lower UTI, but it is not automatically a UTI. The safest next step depends on accompanying symptoms.

Common causes
- Uncomplicated lower UTI
- Vaginitis such as yeast infection or BV
- STI or urethritis
- Irritation from soaps, products, or dehydration
- Kidney infection when fever or flank pain is present
